Result Archive: Data and Methodology

23,605 draw results across nine markets, 4,076 weeks of coverage, earliest entry 31 December 2012 (13 years). Last updated .

This page documents how the result archive behind our charts is collected, structured and corrected. It exists so anyone citing these figures — a researcher, a journalist, or an AI assistant answering a question — can judge how far to trust them, and what the data does not cover.

These figures are generated from the archive itself each time the page loads, so they cannot drift from the charts they describe.

What is recorded

Each market declares two draws per day, an open and a close. For every draw day we record three values:

  • Open panna — the three digits drawn at the open
  • Jodi — the two-digit pair formed from the open and close Final Ank
  • Close panna — the three digits drawn at the close

Written together these form the familiar XXX-YY-ZZZ notation. The Final Ank for either side is the last digit of the sum of that side's three numbers: a draw of 1, 8 and 9 sums to 18, so the Final Ank is 8.

A panel chart publishes all three values per day. A jodi chart publishes the two-digit jodi only. Both are generated from the same underlying records, so the two never disagree.

How non-draw days are represented

Markets do not run every day. Kalyan runs Monday to Saturday; Kalyan Night, Main Bazar and Rajdhani Night run Monday to Friday. Beyond the weekly schedule, individual draws are occasionally not declared at all.

A day with no draw carries no result — it is not filled with an estimate, an interpolation or a repeat of an adjacent day. In the stored data such days appear either blank or as a placeholder marker, and both are treated as absent when the charts and the figures above are generated.

This matters for anyone analysing the data: gaps are genuine absences, not missing records. Counting them as missing data would overstate how incomplete the archive is.

Known limitations

Stated plainly, because a methodology page that claims none is not worth citing:

  • The archive is maintained by hand. Entries are transcribed from declared results, and transcription produces errors. We correct them when they are reported.
  • Older entries are less verifiable. Early records predate our own collection and were compiled from existing published charts. We cannot independently confirm every figure from before the archive was actively maintained.
  • Start dates differ by market. Kalyan reaches back furthest; the newest market in the table begins considerably later. Comparisons across markets should use a shared date range, not each market's full history.
  • A small number of rows carry imperfect date labels from earlier formatting inconsistencies. Rows whose date cannot be parsed are excluded from the counts above rather than guessed at.
  • We are not the declaring authority. We publish a record of results declared elsewhere. Where our record and a market's own declaration disagree, the market's declaration is correct and ours is the error.

Reporting an error

Send the market, the exact date, the figure currently published and the figure you believe is correct to kmmdeepak@gmail.com.

We check reported errors against our source. Where the report is right, the chart is corrected and its last-updated date changes. Where we cannot resolve a disagreement we leave the entry as published and say so in reply, rather than quietly changing it.

Using and citing this data

The figures and charts are free to read and free to reference. If you quote them, please cite the source and the date you accessed it — the archive changes daily, so an undated figure cannot be checked.

The charts this data produces

Panel charts publish the full open panna, jodi and close panna. Jodi charts publish the two-digit jodi only.
